I was surprised to see Vinny being the one with fresh legs in OT while everyone else on both teams looked sluggish.

I must be playoff-hockey starved because I was jumping around like we won the cup. Let's do it all over again on Wednesday, just with more goals and no OT.

I'm not sure that I agree that they actually played any better, but the result was certainly better. It could've gone badly very easily on any of those penalties, though. That'll be the death of them if they don't clean that up. Perhaps this win will give them a boost, though, so that they're not playing on their toes or frustrated as much, which tends to lead to penalties. We'll see.

He's been one their best players all series, IMO, and one of the few players really giving everything that he has. It seems clear to me that he really doesn't want his career to end so soon. His determination needs to rub off on his teammates.

Kings seem to be getting better each game, let's hope that trend continues.

Huge win for the Kings! Hope they win it all let his year again! Going to be tough against a determined and pissed San Jose team but last night's win was crucial. I hate the 3 hour time difference, especially when I have to work the next day lol but it was truly worth it. I want to see Gaborik contribute more and chip in with some key goals. Go kings!

Didn't get to see the game, but gotta believe that an 0/5 PP night for San Jose will not happen again. If LA plays more disciplined, they have a strong shot, but if they keep taking these penalties, they will get burned. Now that the D pairings have switched, Sharks will be better served with a more balanced attack. Heavy rolling those top 3 lines. While Scuderi and Schenn now have better partners, they will still be on the ice and San Jose needs to capitalize on any mistakes they make that Doughty and Muzzin can't cover up. And if they do manage to cover them, hopefully a hole opens up elsewhere.

Good write up.

Lecavalier mentioned he has not changed his mind. LA made the deal with philly knowing that vinny agreed to retire at the end of the season.

As a Sharks fan, those lost powerplay opportunities were frustrating, but you've got to give it to the Kings and Quick for keeping the puck out of the net, especially on that 4th powerplay. Against ANY other team, I think San Jose converts one or two of those.

Jones has looked real good. REAL good. It's nice to see a real goaltender battle with LA for once vs. our guy looking like a pile of poo.

that may be the biggest difference between this season and seasons past.. but you can't blame it all on the goalchie in the past...

You are correct however he was asked that question in a recent interview and stated he hasn't changed his mind.

Notwithstanding his verbal commitment, if you look at our cap, the term and amount devoted to aging players, the current performance of some of those players on long-term deals, our prospect pool, and the lack of first rounder this year and next, the answer is...we'll worry about it later.

This would actually screw over the Flyers more than it would LA. $2.25M is very reasonable for a 3rd line center, so the Kings could move some assets to make it work. However, the Flyers would have $2.25M of dead space on their contract for another two years. Since Lombardi and Hextall are very close, I don't see this happening.

If anything, a resurgent Lecavalier at a low cap hit would have some trade value, and I could see the Kings using it to bring in some future assets, or to move out an additional bad contract. Not sure VL would want to risk it knowing he could end up playing his twilight years for a non-contender.

Lucic had a nice assist last night but he has to step up his game. Lazy play with a turn-over that led to the first goal and needs to control his emotions with lots of stupid penalties.

The continued media-fellatio being performed on Drew Doughty is reaching embarrassingly obscene levels. He has not been good. At all. He's just been there. Further to my earlier pun, it'll be tough to swallow when EK wins his 3rd Norris.

Drew Doughty is all world..if a world class player has a few sub par games, it doesn't change the level of his pedigree.
